COOKIE POLICY
Cookies and similar technologies

1. Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how LearnPointCo Inc. ("we," "us") uses cookies, local storage and similar browser technologies when you visit learnpointco.pro (the "Site"). We take a minimal approach: essential functionality first, optional analytics only with your consent recorded under the storage key learnpointco_consent.
LearnPointCo is a learning-design edtech studio for education organizations — not a consumer course seller, homework service, essay-writing tool, or get-rich AI income programme. Cookies on this Site support Site operation and optional aggregate traffic understanding; they are not used to profile visitors for credential offers or income guarantees.
2. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Local storage is a browser mechanism that persists data on your device until cleared. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until deleted or until their expiry date.
Local storage on the Site stores your cookie consent preference as JSON, for example: {"choice":"all","ts":1720000000000} or {"choice":"reject","ts":1720000000000}. The timestamp supports our six-month preference retention practice described in Section 8.
3. How we categorize technologies
3.1 Strictly necessary
Essential cookies and storage may be used to:
- Maintain security, HTTPS session integrity and basic load balancing
- Remember your cookie consent choice in
learnpointco_consent - Protect the contact form honeypot (
websitefield) from automated abuse
These are necessary for the Site to function reliably. We present a consent banner for transparency even where Canadian law may not require consent for strictly necessary technologies.
3.2 Optional analytics
If you click Accept all on the cookie banner, we may enable privacy-oriented, aggregate analytics to understand traffic patterns — pages viewed, referral sources, device categories — without building individual marketing profiles or cross-site advertising graphs.
If you click Reject all, optional analytics remain disabled. Your choice is written to local storage and honoured on subsequent visits until you clear site data or six months elapse, after which the banner may reappear.
Customise navigates to this Cookie Policy so you can review details before choosing.
3.3 What we do not deploy
- Cross-site advertising or retargeting pixels
- Social-media tracking widgets that profile visitors
- Cookies promoting get-rich courses, homework completion or diploma programmes
- Sale of cookie-derived personal information
4. Cookie banner implementation
The banner is implemented in /js/main.js with element id cookie-banner. Buttons:
- Accept all (
cookie-accept) — saveslearnpointco_consentwithchoice: "all"and hides the banner - Reject all (
cookie-reject) — saveschoice: "reject"without enabling optional analytics - Customise (
cookie-customise) — redirects to this page
The banner does not reload the page. If local storage is unavailable (private browsing restrictions), the banner may appear on each visit because preferences cannot be persisted.
5. Third-party resources
We minimize third-party cookies. Typography is loaded from Google Fonts; Google may process IP addresses and referrer data under its own terms. We do not embed third-party advertising networks on the Site. If embeds are added in future, this policy will be updated before optional trackers activate.
6. Relationship to PIPEDA
Where optional analytics process information that constitutes personal information under PIPEDA — such as IP addresses combined with browsing history — we rely on your banner consent. Essential operations rely on legitimate interests in Site security and functionality. See the Privacy Policy for broader data-handling practices, including Ontario FIPPA notes for institutional clients.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers allow you to block, delete or limit cookies and local storage through settings. Blocking all storage may prevent the Site from remembering your consent choice and could affect form security features. Consult your browser documentation for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or mobile equivalents.
To reset your LearnPointCo preference, clear site data for learnpointco.pro or delete the learnpointco_consent entry in local storage; the banner will show on your next visit.
8. Retention
Consent JSON in learnpointco_consent persists until cleared by you or until we change the storage mechanism in a Site update. We treat preferences as valid for approximately six months before re-prompting, consistent with the banner notice. Server access logs tied to essential operations follow the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy.
9. Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when practices, technology or law change. The effective date above will reflect revisions. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site.
